Just in relation to the sites with users losing call logs, SMS etc this is
as you know caused by the "Low Memory Manager" kicking in. I look after
hundreds of sites and I also saw this same issue occur with SP5 after the
update was installed. The quickest fix I could come up with was to go to
"Options > Advanced Options > Applications" and delete the additional
languages to clear enough memory (of course a wipe and reactivation also
works). I found sites that don't activate using the Setup Wizard are having
more issues as the wizards will remove all unwanted languages during the
setup freeing up more space. Also I have found a large number of sites have
users who have accidentally set the camera to save to device memory instead
of the memory card.
